Big news if you haven't seen it yet - Ford has officially confirmed and opened orders for the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC, and the numbers are serious: 795 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque from a hand-built 5.2L supercharged cross-plane V8. That's the same engine that powers the Mustang GTD supercar, assembled by a single technician at Ford's Dearborn Engine Plant.
The drivetrain pairs it with a 7-speed TREMEC dual-clutch transmission and a carbon-fiber driveshaft. Standard equipment includes next-gen MagneRide dampers, revised rear suspension geometry with forged links, and a magnesium strut tower brace. The optional Track Pack steps it up further with carbon-fiber wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and a carbon wing that reportedly generates 620 lbs of rear downforce at 180 mph.
Pricing starts at $103,490 for the base Dark Horse SC, up to $139,990 for the Track Pack and $170,970 for the Track Pack Special Edition. Order banks are open now with deliveries expected this summer. For context, you're getting GTD-derived power at roughly a third of the GTD price tag.
What's your take? Is the Dark Horse SC the natural next step for current DH owners, or does the price put it in a completely different league? Anyone already placed an order - or tempted by the Track Pack specifically? Drop your thoughts below.
