Alright, let's hear it \xe2\x80\x94 what was the very first thing you changed on your Dark Horse after taking delivery?

Based on what we're seeing across forums and build threads, exhaust tends to be the most popular first move. The active exhaust sounds great stock, but a lot of owners are adding Borla, MagnaFlow, or Corsa cat-backs pretty quickly \xe2\x80\x94 or going straight for long-tube headers and an H-pipe. After that it's usually a tune: the S650 ECU has been cracked, and shops like Lund Racing, 5 Star, and Wengerd Performance are doing solid work, especially on E85 where real-world gains can hit +70 rwhp with bolt-ons.

Beyond that, JLT cold air intakes are popular, and a lot of owners are going the PPF + ceramic coat route early to protect the paint before any track time. Short-throw shifter knobs and other small interior tweaks seem to come later once the go-fast stuff is sorted.

What was your first mod? Was it exhaust, a tune, protection film, or something totally different? And what's sitting at the top of your list right now?

The very first mod I did was install and hardwire a Gen 2 Valentine One radar detector!

I was fortunate enough to discover that the Blendmount I needed for the Dark Horse was the same one that I already had in an older F150; so everything got installed Day 1.

After that things get a little blurry.

I cannot recall if the next mod was the blackout panel between the taillights, the aluminum pedal covers, or the Barton Short throw shifter; but I know the shifter had to be very early on in the build because it was only about 28F out the morning I went to install it.

I've never seen an angel; but I know the Devil, and he told me I'm fine.

@yamazuki Nice. I dont consider PPF and Ceramic a "mod" so to speak. Mine would be the Ford Performance XPipe and resonator delete
