Kicking off a weekly Dark Horse Market Report. Every week we pull the entire national market — how many are for sale, what they cost, what's actually selling, and where things stand.

Right now, nationwide:

- 682 Dark Horses for sale (435 new, 247 used, 47 CPO)

- Used floor: about $46,200 (a 2024 with ~28,600 miles)

- Clean, low-mile used: roughly $52,000–$56,000

- New (standard Dark Horse): about $64,000–$77,000. With the markup frenzy behind us, you can find these right around MSRP if you shop around.

- Heads up on the six-figure listings: about 14 nationwide are $100K–$205K. Those are the Dark Horse SC (Ford's 795hp supercharged flagship) plus Hennessey/built cars — most listed at or near their own very high MSRP. They are NOT base Dark Horses with a crazy markup, so don't let those numbers scare you.

- What they actually sell for at auction (Cars & Bids + Bring a Trailer): recent sales run from a stock Premium around $59K up to a supercharged Hennessey H850 at $78K (May 2026). Auction cars skew low-mile and modified, so a normal, driven stock Premium is more of a low-$60Ks car. Only about half meet reserve — owners know what they have and hold out for a strong number.

Takeaway: the market has matured a lot from the ADM-on-everything days of a year ago — pricing is fair and sane, there's healthy selection, and demand is clearly still there for what is a genuinely desirable, limited-run car. The main thing is knowing which car you're actually looking at (standard vs SC) and the real national range, so no dealer can spin you.
